Our Mission

Our goal at Tickets 2 The Future is to improve the financial literacy of today’s youth.

Each year, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) issues a brief financial literacy quiz to the US population. Recent results show that only a third of test-takers completed the quiz with at least 80% accuracy; in other words, there is widespread financial illiteracy in our country. At Tickets 2 The Future, we strongly believe that financial literacy is fundamental to the success of America’s youth. Whether it be by learning what taxes are or growing investment accounts, we want today’s youth to reach adulthood with a toolbox of skills that they need to thrive financially. It is our goal to energize the community of Charlotte and facilitate a connection with the underprivileged in our society. Charlotte is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the nation, yet we are one of the least socially mobile cities in the country. In fact, a 2014 Harvard Study found Charlotte to be the least socially mobile city of the 50 most populous areas in the US.

Here at Tickets 2 The Future, we aim to provide the great equalizer in the battle for socioeconomic success: knowledge. To build a strong foundation, our organization will target youth in Charlotte of all backgrounds and demographics. We believe that the key to absorbing a fundamental understanding of topics that are often tedious, such as the banking system and budgeting, is to present ideas in a fun and engaging way. To accomplish this, our high school volunteers commit to spending time fundraising and creating/holding events to educate the community as well as establishing a strong social media presence, which will all contribute to the larger goal: providing young Charlotteans with the ticket to a financially stable future.
